Fishing on the Truckee River remains great this week. Flows in the canyon have come up slightly with an increased discharge out of Boca Reservoir and warmer days causing a slight bit of run off to start.

Fishing remains very steady on the river this week. The trout are holding in a variety of water and fishing “the in-between water” is highly recommended when walking to the next big bucket, even if its just a few casts into potential holding water.

Wow, the Truckee River has been fishing better than we have seen it in a long time. The current flows in the canyon are hovering around 300-350 and the water is running clear.

UPDATED FEB 7th - Fishing in the canyon section of the Truckee remains excellent as most people are choosing to hit the slopes rather than the river. Fewer people on the river means less fishing pressure and higher catch rates.
