A cold week here in Truckee with snow almost every day. Yet the fishing has been great up and down the river. Pyramid was slow for us this week but looks very promising as we move laster in the March and April.

Fishing on the Truckee River remains great this week. Flows in the canyon have come up slightly with an increased discharge out of Boca Reservoir and warmer days causing a slight bit of run off to start.

Fishing remains very steady on the river this week. The trout are holding in a variety of water and fishing “the in-between water” is highly recommended when walking to the next big bucket, even if its just a few casts into potential holding water.

Pyramid Lake has really switched on in the last week as winter conditions take hold here. The fish have been taking a variety of flies and methods and having a rod rigged with sinking line as well as a rod rigged with floating line will be a great way to mix up tactics and see what is working that day.
