The Umpqua Sierra Damsel is a highly realistic nymph pattern designed by Andy Burk to imitate the Odonata Damselfly in its immature, aquatic stage, which is a key food source in stillwaters of the Western US. Featuring a slender body, marabou tail, and realistic eyes, this fly is extremely effective when fished near weedy lake edges and in slow-moving sloughs where the nymphs are active. It is best retrieved with short, erratic strips to mimic the natural swimming motion and trigger aggressive strikes from trout.
