The Umpqua Parachute Damsel is an excellent dry fly pattern designed to imitate the vulnerable adult damselfly, especially the "teneral" adults that have recently hatched but are unable to fly. This pattern features a braided body and a parachute hackle that allows it to float high and visible on the surface film of stillwaters. It is extremely effective for sight-fishing to cruising trout near weed beds and banks during the damsel hatch, and often benefits from subtle twitches to simulate a struggling insect.
