Umpqua ZT Damsel Leech
The Umpqua ZT Damsel Leech is a popular stillwater fly pattern, designed by Zack Thurman, which combines the profile of a damsel fly nymph with the movement of a small leech. Its defining characteristic is the long, sparse, marabou tail and body which provides critical "suggestive movement" as it is retrieved through the water. This unweighted fly is highly effective in lakes, fished on an intermediate sinking line with a slow pull-and-pause or hand-twist retrieve to imitate the swimming action of its aquatic food sources.
